SEE ALSO...

VSV-G Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects VSV-G protein of VSV origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VSV-G (F-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VSV-G protein, a glycoprotein located on the surface of the vesicular stomatitis virus, plays a crucial role in viral infection of host cells. VSV-G protein facilitates viral entry by mediating virus attachment to host cell membrane and promoting viral envelope fusion with endosomal membrane after endocytosis. This process enables viral RNA release into host cells for replication and translation. VSV-G protein′s structure contains specific domains that interact with host cell receptors, influencing viral infection efficiency and host immune response. VSV-G protein transport from endoplasmic reticulum to plasma membrane exhibits temperature sensitivity, making VSV-G protein valuable for studying viral behavior and entry mechanisms. VSV-G (F-6) monoclonal antibody serves as an essential tool in research exploring viral pathogenesis and dynamics of viral evolution within the Rhabdoviridae family.

Hello, I wonder if this antibody can be used in flow cytometry against intact virus and intact cells. As it recognizes the intravirion region of the VSV (493-511), can the antibody interact with VSV in the context of intact virions/cells?

Asked by: Solrac
Thank you for your question. VSV-G Antibody (F-6) is only recommended for detection of VSV-G of VSV origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. We do not have any internal data supporting flow cytometry of intact cells or virions.

Hello! Is the VSV-G Antibody (F-6): sc-365019 raised against actual VSV-G virus, or just against the peptide? Thanks, Fiona

Asked by: FionaH
Thank you for your question. This antibody was raised against a peptide with a sequence of VSV-G origin. It was not made against the actual VSV-G virus.

the storage manual on product told me, it could be storaged in 4℃, and i want to know about if i store it on room temp. does it make enormous difference?

Asked by: Jinwoo
Thank you for your question. The antibodies should always be stored at 4˚C for long term storage, but generally they are OK at room temperature for a day or two. We do not recommend storing them at room temperature long term. If you have any further questions, please contact our Asia Technical Service team. You can reach them by phone at (86 21) 6093-6350, by email at: asia@scbio.cn or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com

How should the blocking peptide sc-365019 P be used?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended to be used as a negative control by preadsorbing the VSV-G antibody sc-365019 with it prior to application. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
