VPAC1 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VPAC1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VPAC1 (B-4) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VPAC1 protein plays a crucial role in mediating the effects of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP), which belong to a superfamily of peptide hormones including glucagon, secretin, and growth hormone-releasing hormone. These hormones work through three G-protein coupled receptors: VPAC1, VPAC2, and PACAP receptor (PAC1-R). VPAC1 and VPAC2 show equal affinities for both VIP and PACAP, activating adenylyl cyclase for various cellular signaling pathways. VPAC1 expression is abundant in brain and T cells, where VPAC1 modulates neuronal differentiation and T cell activation, highlighting VPAC1′s importance in neuroimmunology. PACAP receptor, a seven transmembrane protein, generates at least eight isoforms through alternative splicing, each with distinct signaling pathways and expression patterns, demonstrating the complexity of VPAC receptor system in physiological processes.

I am using VPAC1 (B-4): sc-377152 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?
