    SEE ALSO...

VIPL Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VIPL protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VIPL (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VIPL protein, also known as LMAN2L (lectin, mannose-binding 2-like), is a 348 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the selective transport of newly synthesized glycoproteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the ER-Golgi intermediate compartment. VIPL protein is primarily localized in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, where VIPL protein is essential for the proper export of glycoproteins, thereby influencing various cellular processes, including protein folding and quality control. VIPL protein is highly expressed in skeletal muscle and kidney, with intermediate levels in heart, liver, and placenta, while exhibiting low expression in brain, thymus, spleen, small intestine, and lung. VIPL protein contains one L-type lectin-like domain and functions as a regulator of ERGIC-53, indicating importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and protein trafficking. Additionally, VIPL protein exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, which may contribute to functional diversity in different tissues.

What blocking solution should I use with VIPL (A-4): sc-514840 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
