SEE ALSO...

VEGF Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VEGF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by WB, IP, IF, and IHCP. VEGF Antibody (C-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VEGF plays a crucial role in angiogenesis, the process of new blood vessel formation, which is vital for supplying nutrients and oxygen to tissues, particularly during development and in response to injury. VEGF is implicated in tumor progression, as VEGF promotes the growth of blood vessels that supply tumors, facilitating their growth and metastasis. VEGF exists as a dimeric glycoprotein and exhibits structural homology to platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), with several isoforms generated through alternative mRNA splicing. In various staining applications, VEGF monoclonal antibody (C-1) demonstrates cytoplasmic localization, highlighting VEGF presence in tumor cells where VEGF is often overexpressed. Additionally, VEGF mRNA expression in primary tumors and VEGF production by tumor cell lines in vitro underscore VEGF significance in cancer biology. Notably, Flt, a member of the PDGF receptor family, has been identified as a high-affinity receptor for VEGF, further emphasizing VEGF importance in both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions.
