VDUP1 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VDUP1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VDUP1 (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VDUP1, also known as thioredoxin interacting protein, plays a crucial role in cellular stress responses, being upregulated by 1,25(OH)2D3 in reaction to oxidative stress, ultraviolet radiation, and heat shock. VDUP1 acts as a natural antagonist of thioredoxin, contributing to tumor suppression by inducing cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase, which is vital for preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. Additionally, VDUP1 is essential for the expression of CD122 and the maturation of natural killer (NK) cells, although VDUP1 has a minimal impact on T and B cell development. The gene encoding human VDUP1 is located on chromosome 1q21, and VDUP1 is ubiquitously expressed across various tissues, predominantly localizing in the cytoplasm. Given VDUP1′s significant role in immune regulation and potential as a therapeutic target for melanoma, VDUP1 continues to be an important focus of research in cancer biology and immunology.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271237 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Non-specificThis antibody doesnt work properly in order to detect VDUP1 by western blot in whole cell lysates (BT474 cell line). It is non-specific.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I don`t know which band is the right band1:250 diluted for wb of rat protein of 50 ug.The band is clear, but there are two main bands ,one is above 55kd,the other is below 40KD ,both of them are strong,I don`t know which one is the right one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great with IP and WB for skeletal muscle tissueOrdered a sample of this product to use for both IP and WB on skeletal muscle tissue (100ug for IP) the band that appeared was quite robust for both the straight tissue homogenate and the IP'd sample

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fineGot the antibody as a free sample (20ul) which was good for one blot. Worked good as i could clearly see the band of my interset but had couple of non-specific bands as well near the main band.
