VCAM-1 Antibody (HAE-2z) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody raised against domain 1 of human VCAM-1. Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 (VCAM-1), also known as CD106, is a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed on endothelial cells activated by cytokines. VCAM-1 plays a crucial role in mediating the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium, a key step in the inflammatory response. VCAM-1 binds to the integrin VLA-4 (α4β1) on leukocytes, facilitating their transmigration across the endothelial barrier into tissues. This interaction is significant in immune surveillance and has been implicated in various pathological conditions such as atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis. VCAM-1 expression is upregulated by pro-inflammatory cytokines like interleukin-1 (IL-1), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Anti-VCAM-1 antibody (HAE-2z) reacts with human VCAM-1 and is suitable for applications including immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). By targeting domain 1 of VCAM-1, anti-VCAM-1 antibody (HAE-2z) aids in studying leukocyte-endothelial interactions and the mechanisms underlying inflammatory processes. Understanding VCAM-1 function is important for developing therapeutic strategies against inflammatory diseases and conditions involving abnormal immune cell trafficking.
