SEE ALSO...

VAX2 Antibody (VAX2A8F12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects VAX2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-VAX2 antibody (VAX2A8F12) is available as a non-conjugated format. VAX2, or Ventral anterior homeobox 2, is a 290 amino acid homeobox protein that plays a pivotal role in eye development, particularly in ventral optic vesicle specification and dorsoventral pattern establishment. VAX2 is localized in the nucleus, where VAX2 functions as a transcription factor, working with VAX1 to regulate retinal differentiation, neuroepithelial cell proliferation, and axial polarization in the retina. VAX2 and VAX1 repress Pax-6 transcription, a key inducer of retinal development; by inhibiting Pax-6, VAX2 effectively slows retinal differentiation, allowing proper optic nerve development. VAX2′s structural integrity is maintained by its homeobox DNA-binding domain, which is essential for gene regulation function. Understanding VAX2′s role in retinal development is crucial, as functional disruptions can lead to eye developmental disorders.

I am using VAX2 (VAX2A8F12): sc-81422 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
