    SEE ALSO...

UTY Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UTY protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UTY (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UTY protein, a product of the ubiquitously transcribed tetratricopeptide-repeat genes located on the Y chromosome, plays a crucial role in gene regulation by interacting with members of the Groucho/transducin-like Enhancer of split (TLE) family, which are vertebrate orthologs of the yeast Tup1 protein. This interaction is vital for forming transcriptional repressor complexes that modulate gene expression, thereby influencing various biological processes, including development and differentiation. Additionally, UTY′s functional relationship with TLE1 and TLE2 highlights UTY′s importance in regulating specific gene targets, which can have significant implications in understanding sex-linked genetic disorders and broader mechanisms of gene regulation. A related gene on the X chromosome encodes UTX protein, which shares functional similarities with UTY, further emphasizing the intricate balance of gene expression regulation between sex chromosomes.

Hello, I am interested in the UTY antibody (sc-514690), but I am very concerned that you use HeLa cell lysate as a positive control. UTY is encoded in chromosome Y, but HeLa cells came from a female donor... Any comments?

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514690 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
