    SEE ALSO...

utrophin Antibody (7F3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects utrophin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. anti-utrophin antibody (7F3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Utrophin plays a crucial role in muscle function and cellular integrity, as utrophin is a structural, actin-binding protein that helps anchor the cytoskeleton to the plasma membrane, similar to dystrophin, which is associated with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophies. Utrophin is primarily localized to the inner surface of the plasma membrane in muscle and brain tissues, where utrophin is essential for maintaining the stability of muscle fibers during contraction. Alternative splicing of utrophin allows interaction with various proteins, which is vital for function in muscle tissue. Upregulation of utrophin has been shown to mitigate the effects of dystrophic pathology, making utrophin a potential therapeutic target for muscular dystrophies.

I am using utrophin (7F3): sc-81556 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

    Asked by: jenniferc
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
