USP47 Antibody (4E7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects USP47 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-USP47 antibody (4E7) is available as the non-conjugated format. USP47, also known as ubiquitin specific peptidase 47 or TRFP (TATA binding protein-related factor-proximal homolog), is a 1,375 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is essential for regulating various cellular processes, including protein degradation, signal transduction, and cell cycle progression. USP47 is expressed in skeletal muscle, testis, and heart tissues, and while USP47 contains all necessary active residues to function as a deubiquitinating enzyme, USP47 has been found to be catalytically inactive. This inactivity suggests USP47 may have a regulatory role rather than a direct enzymatic function, potentially influencing the activity of other ubiquitin ligases or deubiquitinating enzymes. Three isoforms of USP47 arise from alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms within the cell.
