USP20 Antibody (1A6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects USP20 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-USP20 antibody (1A6) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. USP20, also known as ubiquitin specific peptidase 20, VDU2, or LFSR3A, is a 914 amino acid protein characterized by one UBP-type zinc finger and two dual specificity phosphatase (DUSP) domains. USP20 plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, which is essential for regulating various cellular processes, including signal transduction, transcriptional activation, and cell cycle progression. Specifically, USP20 catalyzes the conversion of a ubiquitin C-terminal thioester to free ubiquitin and thiol, a reaction that is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and influencing cell cycle dynamics. USP20′s ability to modulate ubiquitin levels in the cell underscores its importance in cancer biology, as USP20 may serve as a marker for cancer stem cells and contribute to tumor progression.
