    SEE ALSO...

UNKL Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UNKL protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-UNKL antibody (F-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UNKL protein, also known as unkempt homolog (Drosophila)-like, RING finger protein unkempt-like, putative E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase UNKL, ZC3H5L, or ZC3HDC5L, is a 680 amino acid protein that exists as six alternatively spliced isoforms and belongs to the unkempt family. UNKL includes four C3H1-type zinc fingers and one RING-type zinc finger, which are critical for functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, facilitating the ubiquitination process that tags proteins for degradation. This post-translational modification maintains cellular homeostasis, regulates protein levels, and controls various cellular processes, including cell cycle progression and response to stress. UNKL gene is located on human chromosome 16, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, highlighting UNKL′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.

What blocking solution should I use with UNKL (F-8): sc-398716 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
