UNC45A Antibody (AbS1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects UNC45A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). UNC45A monoclonal antibody (AbS1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UNC45A, also known as unc-45 homolog A, SMAP1 (Smooth muscle cell-associated protein 1), or GCUNC45, is a 944 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in muscle development by acting as a chaperone for heat shock protein 90 (HSP90). This interaction is vital for proper folding of myosin, which is essential for muscle cell differentiation and myotube formation. UNC45A localization to the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm underscores importance in facilitating assembly of protein complexes necessary for muscle function. UNC45A is expressed in various tissues, including spinal cord, bone marrow, peripheral blood leukocytes, trachea, stomach, and adrenal gland, indicating diverse biological roles. Notably, UNC45A overexpression has been linked to increased cell proliferation and motility, particularly in ovarian cancer, suggesting potential involvement in tumorigenesis. Multiple isoforms of UNC45A arise from alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in different cellular contexts.
