SEE ALSO...

ULK2 Antibody (2A12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ULK2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ULK2 antibody (2A12) is available as the non-conjugated format. ULK2 plays a crucial role in regulating autophagy, a vital cellular process that degrades and recycles cellular components, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress conditions. ULK2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is involved in initiating autophagosome formation, which is essential for degrading damaged organelles and proteins. Proper functioning of ULK2 is important for cellular health, as dysregulation of autophagy has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. ULK1 and ULK2 share significant structural similarities, including amino-terminal serine/threonine kinase domains and a proline/serine-rich domain, which are critical for kinase activity and function. Both proteins are highly conserved across species, indicating their fundamental role in biological processes. ULK2 expression is widespread, mapping to mouse chromosome 11 B2, and ULK2 is expected to have a similar molecular weight as ULK1 in humans. ULK2′s ability to autophosphorylate its proline/serine-rich domain in vitro further underscores its importance in regulating autophagy and related cellular functions.

I am using ULK2 (2A12): sc-293453 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
