Ubr3 Antibody (5A10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Ubr3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ubr3 antibody (5A10) is available as the non-conjugated format. Ubr3, also known as Ubiquitin-protein ligase E3-alpha-3 or Zinc finger protein 650, is a 1888 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein characterized by the presence of one UBR-type zinc finger and one RING-type zinc finger. Ubr3 plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, particularly in the N-end rule pathway, where Ubr3 is involved in the recognition and degradation of proteins with destabilizing N-terminal residues. Unlike other family members, Ubr3 does not target these N-end rule substrates; instead, Ubr3 is believed to interact with small compounds that influence the degradation of its substrates. Studies show that adult mice lacking Ubr3 exhibit female-specific anosmia, indicating Ubr3′s regulatory role in sensory pathways such as olfaction. Ubr3 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in four distinct isoforms, which may contribute to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms within cellular processes.
