Ubiquitin Antibody (P4D1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect the full-length Ubiquitin protein, encompassing amino acids 1-76 of bovine origin. Ubiquitin mouse monoclonal antibody (P4D1) recognizes Ubiquitin from mouse, rat, human, and Drosophila melanogaster sources across applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ubiquitin antibody (P4D1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Ubiquitin protein itself is one of the most evolutionarily conserved proteins, playing a crucial role in cellular homeostasis by targeting abnormal, foreign, and improperly folded proteins for degradation via the 26S Proteasome. Ubiquitin achieves its function through covalent attachment to substrates via an isopeptide bond between its carboxy-terminal glycine and lysine residues on target proteins, facilitating the formation of ubiquitin chains, particularly through Lysine 48 linkages, which signal for proteolysis. Beyond protein degradation, Ubiquitin also regulates signal transduction pathways through diverse polyubiquitin linkages, including Lysine 63 linkages, which are critical for non-proteolytic roles such as DNA repair and intracellular signaling. Ubiquitin modulates the stability of regulatory proteins such as IκB-α and p27, thereby influencing processes like inflammation, cell cycle progression, and DNA damage responses. Ubiquitin monoclonal antibody (P4D1) is recommended for researchers studying protein turnover, cellular signaling, and various aspects of cellular regulation.
