UBA2 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UBA2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UBA2 (B-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UBA2 protein plays a crucial role in the sumoylation process, which is essential for regulating various cellular functions. Sumoylation, unlike ubiquitination that primarily targets proteins for degradation, modifies proteins to influence stability, localization, and activity, thereby impacting processes such as nuclear transport and transcriptional regulation. UBA2, along with homolog AOS1, forms a heterodimer that activates SUMO-1, facilitating conjugation to target proteins, including key regulators like p53 and MDM2. This interaction maintains cellular homeostasis and responds to stress, making UBA2 a significant player in cellular signaling pathways.

Can UBA2 (B-6): sc-376305 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, UBA2 (B-6): sc-376305 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
