    SEE ALSO...

Type I 4-phosphatase Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Type I 4-phosphatase of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Type I 4-phosphatase (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Type I 4-phosphatase plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by selectively hydrolyzing phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate, inositol 1,3,4-trisphosphate, and inositol 3,4-bisphosphate, thereby generating second messengers that mediate responses to extracellular signals. This enzymatic activity is vital for regulating intracellular calcium levels, which are essential for various cellular processes, including muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and cell proliferation. Additionally, Type I 4-phosphatase is alternatively spliced into two isoforms, α and β, which have been identified in human platelets, rat brain, heart, skeletal muscle, and spleen, and all isoforms contain a conserved motif CKSAKDRT that includes the active site consensus sequence C-X5-R. The ability of Type I 4-phosphatase to act as a signal-terminating enzyme underscores its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and modulating signal transduction pathways.
