TXNDC4 Antibody (Y-19) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects TXNDC4 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TXNDC4, also known as ERP44, is a 406 amino acid protein characterized by a single thioredoxin domain, which plays a crucial role in redox reactions within the cell. TXNDC4 is primarily localized in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), where TXNDC4 is essential for regulating oxidative protein folding and maintaining proper functioning of calcium channels by inhibiting inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate receptor type 1 (IP3R-I) activity. TXNDC4′s importance extends to retaining other proteins, such as Ero1-Lβ and Ero1-Lα, within the ER, contributing to the overall protein quality control system of the cell. TXNDC4 expression increases in response to ER stress, highlighting TXNDC4′s critical role in preserving intraluminal conditions and ensuring cellular homeostasis. An N-terminal ER targeting sequence and a C-terminal ER retention signal (RDEL) are vital for TXNDC4′s localization and function within the ER. With diverse applications and significant biological role, anti-TXNDC4 antibody (Y-19) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying ER stress and protein folding mechanisms in human cells.
