SEE ALSO...

TXA2R Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects TXA2R protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TXA2R antibody (G-2) is available as the non-conjugated form. Thromboxane A2 (TXA2), a key product of arachidonic acid metabolism via cyclooxygenase (COX), plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction, making TXA2R vital for cardiovascular health. TXA2 receptor (TXA2R) is a G protein-coupled receptor that, upon activation, stimulates phospholipase C (PLC) to release intracellular calcium, which is essential for numerous cellular responses. TXA2R can activate the MAP kinase pathway in response to dibutyryl cyclic AMP (dbcAMP), further underscoring TXA2R′s importance in cellular signaling. The human TXA2R gene is located on chromosome 19p13.3 and undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in protein variants that differ in their carboxy termini, which may influence their functional properties. TXA2R is predominantly expressed in platelets, endothelial cells, the placenta, vascular smooth muscle, and the renal cortex, highlighting TXA2R′s diverse roles in both normal physiology and pathological conditions. Mutations in the TXA2R gene can lead to bleeding disorders due to dysfunctional receptor signaling, and TXA2R has been implicated in renal damage during disease states, as well as in the regulation of labor in women, indicating TXA2R′s potential as a therapeutic target in various clinical scenarios.
