TSEN54 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TSEN54 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TSEN54 (C-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TSEN54, also known as tRNA splicing endonuclease 54 homolog, plays a crucial role in the tRNA-splicing endonuclease complex, which is essential for the accurate processing of pre-tRNA by identifying and cleaving introns at both the 5′ and 3′ splice sites. This function ensures the production of mature tRNA molecules necessary for protein synthesis. TSEN54 is involved in mRNA processing, linking pre-tRNA and pre-mRNA splicing events through interactions with pre-mRNA processing factors. TSEN54 consists of 526 amino acids and is localized in the nucleus, where TSEN54 forms a heterotetrameric complex integral to the splicing process. Defects in TSEN54 have been associated with pontocerebellar hypoplasia (PCH) types 4 and 2A, conditions characterized by significant structural abnormalities in the cerebellum, inferior olive, and ventral pons. TSEN54 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, highlighting TSEN54′s complexity and importance in cellular function.
