Tropomyosin Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Tropomyosin in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Tropomyosin plays a crucial role in muscle contraction and cellular structure by binding to actin filaments, thereby stabilizing their structure and regulating the interaction between actin and myosin. This interaction is vital for muscle function, as Tropomyosin allows for the precise control of muscle contraction and relaxation. Additionally, Tropomyosin is involved in various cellular processes beyond muscle tissue, including cell motility and shape maintenance in non-muscle cells. Tropomyosin is encoded by two genes, TPM1 and TPM2, which undergo alternative splicing to produce multiple isoforms, each with distinct roles in different tissues. The presence of Tropomyosin in virtually all eukaryotic cells underscores its importance in maintaining cellular integrity and function. Anti-Tropomyosin antibody (C-3) is an essential tool for researchers studying muscle biology, cytoskeletal dynamics, and related pathologies, providing reliable detection and characterization of this critical protein.
