TRIM is an inhibitor of NOS1 (nNOS) and NOS2 (iNOS) with IC50 values of 28.2 μM and 27.0 μM, respectively. Studies involving mice suggest that TRIM is a useful tool in determining the roles of NOS in the central nervous system. In addition, TRIM inhibits acetic acid induced abdominal constriction of mice, thus displaying its antinociceptive ability. Furthermore, TRIM interferes with the binding between arginine and tetrahydrobiopterin.
