TREK-1 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects TREK-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TREK-1 antibody (F-6) is available as the non-conjugated form. TREK-1, also known as TWIK-related K+ channel, plays a crucial role in maintaining the resting membrane potential and regulating cellular excitability, which is vital for proper neuronal function and muscle contraction. TREK-1 is primarily located in the plasma membrane of various cell types, including neurons and epithelial cells, where TREK-1 contributes to physiological responses to mechanical stress and changes in membrane tension. TREK-1′s ability to respond to mechanical stimuli and fatty acids underscores its importance in various physiological processes, including pain sensation and cardiovascular function. TREK-1 is characterized by two pore-forming domains and four transmembrane segments, and shares significant sequence identity with TREK-2, which is predominantly expressed in the cerebellum, spleen, and testis. TREK-1 expression in tissues such as the lung and brain highlights potential involvement in respiratory and neurological functions, making TREK-1 a valuable target for research in these areas.
