translin Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects translin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-translin antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Translin, also known as testis brain-RNA-binding protein (TB-RBP), plays a crucial role in regulating mRNA translation by binding to the 3′ untranslated regions of stored mRNAs, specifically the Y and H elements, thereby suppressing their in vitro translation. The human translin gene is located on chromosome 2q21.1 and encodes a highly conserved protein that exhibits a unique ring-shaped structure essential for DNA-binding capabilities. This structural feature, along with a leucine zipper motif, facilitates the formation of dimers, which is vital for exporting specific mRNAs from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, particularly in neurons.
