SEE ALSO...

transgelin Antibody (6G6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects transgelin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-transgelin antibody (6G6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Transgelin, also known as SM22a, plays a crucial role in regulating smooth muscle contraction and maintaining cytoskeletal structural integrity. Transgelin is primarily located in smooth muscle cells, contributing to actin filament organization and influencing cellular shape and motility. Transgelin presence in smooth muscle cells is vital for proper vascular function and development, helping regulate cellular contractile state. The human transgelin gene (TAGLN) is situated on chromosome 11q23.3 and encodes a 201 amino acid protein containing nuclear factor-binding motifs, important for transcriptional regulation in smooth muscle. During embryonic development, transgelin is expressed in various muscle types, but expression becomes restricted to vascular and visceral smooth muscle cells in adulthood, with lower levels in cardiac tissue. Transgelin is downregulated in several transformed cell lines, suggesting decreased expression may serve as an early biomarker for cellular transformation. Transgelin interacts with actin, promoting actin fiber gelling shortly after binding, with a binding ratio of 1:6 actin monomers, highlighting transgelin′s significant role in cytoskeletal dynamics.

Are there any issues with using sc-53932: transgelin (6G6) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-53932 conjugates.
