    SEE ALSO...

TMEM12 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TMEM12 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TMEM12 (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TMEM12 protein, also known as USH3AL1 or CLRN3, is a 226 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining sensory cells, particularly in the inner ear and retina. TMEM12 protein is involved in forming and functioning excitatory ribbon synapse junctions between hair cells and cochlear ganglion cells, as well as similar synapses in the retina. This function is vital for proper auditory and visual processing, and defects in TMEM12-encoding genes can lead to Usher syndrome type 3, a condition characterized by progressive hearing loss and retinitis pigmentosa. Two alternatively spliced isoforms of TMEM12 suggest diverse functional roles, further emphasizing TMEM12 protein′s importance in sensory cell integrity and communication.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398948 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
