SEE ALSO...

Tim9A Antibody (SA-19) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Tim9A protein in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Tim9A antibody (SA-19) is available in non-conjugated format. Tim9A protein functions critically in mitochondrial processes, particularly importing nuclear-encoded precursor proteins into mitochondria, maintaining mitochondrial integrity and function. This process remains essential since mitochondria serve as cellular powerhouses, managing energy production and metabolic pathway regulation. Tim9A (SA-19) monoclonal antibody targets proteins located in mitochondrial intermembrane space, where Tim9A forms heteromeric complexes with Tim10 and Tim12 proteins, essential components of the translocation machinery facilitating protein movement across mitochondrial inner membranes. Tim9A protein defects have been associated with various neurodegenerative diseases, emphasizing Tim9A′s significance in cellular health and development. Tim9A maps to human chromosome 14q21 and shows expression in post-fracture calluses, suggesting involvement in tissue repair and regeneration.

Can sc-101285: Tim9A (SA-19) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101285: Tim9A (SA-19) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
