TID-1L/S Antibody (RS-13) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TID-1L/S protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). TID-1L/S (RS-13) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TID-1L/S promotes apoptosis, while TID-1S splice variant acts as an inhibitor of this process. The differential expression of these splice variants allows cells to respond appropriately to stress signals, influencing cell survival and death. TID-1L and TID-1S are localized to the mitochondrial matrix, where both proteins modulate apoptotic signaling pathways by affecting cytochrome c release and caspase-3 activation. Upon entering mitochondria, TID-1L and TID-1S undergo cleavage at amino acid 66, indicating mature forms derive from cytoplasmic pre-proteins. This post-translational modification highlights dynamic regulation of TID-1L/S in response to cellular conditions, underscoring significance in apoptosis and potential implications in cancer research.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with TID-1L/S (RS-13): sc-18819 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
