Thyroglobulin Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Thyroglobulin of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Thyroglobulin antibody (D-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Thyroglobulin is a large preprotein that plays a crucial role in the synthesis of thyroid hormones, specifically thyroxine and triiodothyronine, which are essential for regulating metabolism, growth, and development. Located primarily in the thyroid gland, Thyroglobulin undergoes a series of post-translational modifications, including glycosylation, which are vital for stability and function. These modifications not only facilitate proper folding and dimerization but also influence secretion and interaction with other proteins in the thyroid. Importantly, defects in Thyroglobulin can lead to conditions such as goiter, characterized by an enlargement of the thyroid gland, often resulting from impaired dimerization and transport processes. Thyroglobulin monoclonal antibody (D-9) accurately detects and quantifies Thyroglobulin, making this antibody an invaluable tool for research and diagnostic applications related to thyroid function and disorders.
