Thy-1 Antibody (aTHy-1A1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Thy-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Thy-1 antibody (aTHy-1A1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Thy-1, also known as CD90, is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored cell surface glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling. Thy-1 is predominantly expressed on the surface of T cells, neurons, and certain stem cells, where Thy-1 is involved in the regulation of immune responses and the maintenance of stem cell properties. Thy-1 expression on hematopoietic stem cells, particularly when coexpressed with CD34, helps identify a subpopulation of cells with pluripotent capabilities, which are essential for effective hematopoiesis and tissue regeneration. Additionally, Thy-1-positive cells have been implicated in the pathogenesis of graft-versus-host disease, highlighting Thy-1′s importance in transplant immunology and potential therapeutic applications.
