    SEE ALSO...

TFIIE-α Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TFIIE-alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TFIIE-alpha antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TFIIE-alpha plays a crucial role in transcription initiation, functioning as a key component of the transcription factor complex that interacts with RNA polymerase II and other basal transcription factors. TFIIE-alpha is essential for recruiting RNA polymerase II to the promoter region of protein-coding genes, facilitating pre-initiation complex formation. This process ensures accurate gene expression, which regulates various cellular functions and responses. TFIIE complex consists of two subunits, α and β, forming a heterotetramer (α2β2) necessary for optimal transcription activity. TFIIE-alpha′s proper functioning is critical, as dysregulation can lead to aberrant gene expression, potentially contributing to various diseases, including cancer.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-133064 X be used instead of the standard form sc-133064?

    Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
