    SEE ALSO...

TEX28 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TEX28 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TEX28 antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TEX28, also known as testis expressed 28 or fTEX, is a 410 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in reproductive biology and is encoded by a gene located on the X chromosome. This gene is associated with MYP1 X-linked myopia phenotypes, and mutations in TEX28 may contribute to color vision disorders. TEX28 localization is particularly significant, as expression occurs primarily in the testis, where TEX28 is believed to be involved in spermatogenesis and male germ cell development. Understanding TEX28 function and expression is essential for elucidating its role in male fertility and potential implications in related disorders. TEX28 consists of five exons that span a considerable distance between protein-coding regions of color pigment genes and a transketolase-related gene, highlighting its complex genetic architecture. Given TEX28 location on the X chromosome, which is critical for sex determination and associated with various genetic conditions, studying TEX28 and its interactions may provide insights into both normal and pathological states of vision and reproduction.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514450 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
