TCR V β 8.1-2 Antibody (KJ16) is a rat monoclonal IgG antibody that detects the TCR V beta 8.1-2 protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and flow cytometry (FCM). TCR V β 8.1-2 (KJ16) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including phycoerythrin (PE) and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), providing flexibility for different experimental needs. TCR V beta 8.1-2 protein plays a crucial role in the immune response by forming part of the T cell receptor, which is essential for recognizing foreign antigens. This recognition initiates a cascade of intracellular signals that activate T cells, enabling them to respond to infections and other immune challenges. The T cell receptor is a heterodimer composed of either alpha and beta or gamma and delta chains, with the majority of T cells (approximately 95%) expressing the alpha/beta heterodimer. The diversity of the TCR repertoire, which allows for the recognition of a wide array of antigens, is achieved through somatic recombination of variable (V), diversity (D), and joining (J) gene segments during T cell development. The genes encoding the TCR beta and gamma chains are located in distinct loci, while the alpha and delta chain genes are found within a single locus. Genetic mutations in the T cell receptor beta locus have been linked to the development of T cell lymphomas, highlighting the importance of this protein in both normal immune function and disease.
