TCR C β 1 Antibody (JOVI.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the TCR C beta 1 protein of human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). TCR C β 1 (JOVI.1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The T cell antigen receptor (TCR) plays a crucial role in the immune response by recognizing foreign antigens and initiating intracellular signaling that activates T cells, transitioning them from a dormant to an active state. TCR is a heterodimer composed of either alpha and beta or gamma and delta chains, with approximately 95% of circulating T cells expressing the alpha/beta heterodimer. The diversity of the TCR repertoire is essential for recognizing a wide array of antigens, achieved through somatic recombination of variable (V), diversity (D), joining (J), and constant (C) gene segments during T cell development. The TCR beta and gamma chain genes are located in distinct loci, while the genes for the TCR alpha and delta chains are found within a single locus. Notably, the beta chain is synthesized by first joining a D segment with a J segment, followed by the addition of a V segment, with the C segment being joined later through RNA splicing. Genetic mutations in the T cell receptor beta locus have been linked to T cell lymphomas, highlighting the importance of TCR integrity in immune function and disease.

Can TCR C β 1 (JOVI.1): sc-53196 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, TCR C β 1 (JOVI.1): sc-53196 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
