TCEAL1 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TCEAL1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCEAL1 (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TCEAL1, also known as transcription elongation factor A (SII) protein 3, p21, SIIR, or pp21, is a crucial member of the TFS-II family, which plays a significant role in the regulation of transcription elongation. This 157 amino acid nuclear protein is ubiquitously expressed and is essential for the release of RNA polymerase II from transcriptional arrest, a process that is vital for proper gene expression. TCEAL1 achieves this by activating the intrinsic RNA cleavage activity of RNA polymerases, allowing them to cleave the nascent transcript and form a new 3′-terminus to resume elongation. Notably, TCEAL1 may exert regulatory effects through protein-protein interactions with other transcriptional regulators rather than direct DNA binding. Furthermore, phosphorylation of TCEAL1 at Serine 36 and Serine 37 is critical for function in transcriptional repression, highlighting the importance of post-translational modifications in the regulation of gene expression.
