TAT Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TAT protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TAT (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TAT protein, or tyrosine aminotransferase, is a crucial 454 amino acid enzyme that resides in the mitochondria and is a member of the class-I pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. TAT protein functions as a homodimer and utilizes pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor to facilitate the conversion of L-tyrosine into p-hydroxyphenylpyruvate, a vital step in amino acid degradation. Defects in the TAT gene can lead to tyrosinemia type 2 (TYRO2), a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated tyrosine levels in the blood and urine, along with symptoms such as palmoplantar keratosis, painful corneal ulcers, and cognitive impairments. The TAT gene is located on human chromosome 16, which is home to over 900 genes and constitutes nearly 3% of the human genome, highlighting the significance of TAT in both metabolic pathways and genetic health.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376292 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
