Tankyrase-1 Antibody (BL-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Tankyrase-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-Tankyrase-1 antibody (BL-2) is available as a non-conjugated format. Tankyrase-1, also known as TRF1-interacting ankyrin-related ADP-ribose polymerase 1, plays a crucial role in telomere maintenance and cellular signaling by catalyzing the addition of poly(ADP-ribose) chains to target proteins, a process known as ADP-ribosylation. This post-translational modification regulates various cellular processes, including DNA repair, cell cycle progression, and apoptosis. Tankyrase-1 interacts with several key proteins, such as TRF-1 (telomere-repeat-binding factor 1) and insulin-responsive aminopeptidase (IRAP), which are essential for maintaining telomere integrity and cellular homeostasis. Tankyrase-1′s ability to modulate telomere length by promoting telomerase access to the telomeric complex underscores its importance in cellular aging and cancer biology. Additionally, Tankyrase-1′s ankyrin-repeat domain facilitates interaction with diverse protein partners, thereby influencing multiple signaling pathways. The overlapping functions of Tankyrase-1 and its homolog Tankyrase-2 highlight their significance in cellular regulation and potential as therapeutic targets in diseases associated with telomere dysfunction.
