TAF II p20 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TAF II p20 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TAF II p20 (B-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TAF II p20, also known as TAF12, TAF15, TAF2J, or TAFII20, is a crucial component of the TFIID complex, which is essential for the initiation of transcription in eukaryotic cells. TAF II p20 consists of 161 amino acids and is characterized by a histone-fold domain, predominantly located in the nucleus, where TAF II p20 plays a vital role in assembling the preinitiation complex by interacting with the TATA-binding protein and other transcription factors. TAF II p20 mediates transcriptional activation and repression, which is critical for regulating gene expression in response to various cellular signals. TAF II p20 exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity in different cellular contexts.
