TAF II p100 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TAF II p100 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TAF II p100 (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TAF II p100, also known as TAF5 or TAFII100, is a critical component of the TFIID complex, which is essential for the initiation of transcription in eukaryotic cells. TAF II p100 is located in the nucleus, where TAF II p100 plays a pivotal role in the assembly of the preinitiation complex by interacting with the TATA-binding protein and other transcription factors. TAF II p100 is vital for both basal and activator-dependent transcription, as TAF II p100 helps stabilize the interactions between various TAFs and the TATA-binding protein, thereby facilitating the recruitment of RNA polymerase II to the promoter region. The structural integrity and functional capacity of TAF II p100 are crucial for effective gene expression, making TAF II p100 an important target for studies related to transcription regulation and its implications in various diseases.
