Syntaxin 18 Antibody (10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Syntaxin 18 protein of mouse, rat, human, and canine origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Syntaxin 18 antibody (10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Syntaxin 18 plays a crucial role in the transport of proteins between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and the Golgi apparatus, which is vital for maintaining cellular function and homeostasis. By facilitating the fusion of vesicles with target membranes, Syntaxin 18 ensures proteins are correctly processed and delivered to their intended destinations within the cell. Syntaxin 18 is primarily localized to the ER, where Syntaxin 18 participates in the regulation of vesicular transport and is also implicated in ER-mediated phagocytosis, potentially influencing the fusion of the ER with plasma or phagosomal membranes. Proper functioning of Syntaxin 18 is essential for various cellular processes, and dysregulation can lead to significant cellular dysfunction, highlighting Syntaxin 18′s importance in both health and disease.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with Syntaxin 18 (10): sc-293067 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
