Syne-2 Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Syne-2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Syne-2 (F-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Synaptic nuclear envelope protein 2 (Syne-2), also known as nesprin-2, is a 6,884 amino acid vertebrate protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining nuclear envelope structural integrity by interacting with emerin and Lamin A. This interaction is vital for nuclear architecture organization and gene expression regulation, as Syne-2 helps anchor the nucleus to the cytoskeleton, facilitating nucleus-cytoplasm communication. Syne-2 is predominantly expressed in kidney, liver, stomach, placenta, spleen, lymphatic nodes, and peripheral blood lymphocytes, although present in nearly all cell types. Syne-2 features a C-terminal transmembrane domain, known as the KLS domain, connected to an N-terminal paired, actin-binding, calponin-homology domain via a spectrin-repeat rod domain. This unique structure enables Syne-2 to mediate signaling between cell membranes and the cytoskeleton, highlighting Syne-2′s importance in cellular mechanics and signaling pathways. Additionally, Syne-2 produces multiple isoforms that vary significantly in size, and mutations in Syne-2 have been associated with various human diseases, including laminopathies, underscoring Syne-2′s significance in health and disease.
