    SEE ALSO...

Symplekin Antibody (YI-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that recognizes symplekin in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Symplekin is a crucial regulatory protein that plays a significant role in mRNA polyadenylation, essential for gene expression and mRNA stability. Symplekin is predominantly located in the nucleus, cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, and cell junctions, highlighting versatile functions within the cell. Symplekin presence in diverse tissues such as testis, pancreas, stomach, liver, and fetal brain underscores importance in various biological processes. Anti-symplekin antibody (YI-9) recognizes a protein that forms a high molecular weight complex, referred to as the tight junction complex, with other proteins involved in polyadenylation, acting as a scaffold that recruits regulatory proteins to specific sites. Symplekin is involved in the 3′-end maturation of histone mRNAs, vital for proper gene regulation during cell division. Symplekin gene defects have been linked to hepatocellular carcinoma, suggesting a role in tumorigenesis. Symplekin is expressed in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, contributing to functional diversity in cellular processes.

Can sc-101128: symplekin (YI-9) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101128: symplekin (YI-9) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
