SV40 KT3 tag Antibody (KT3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the KT3 tag of SV40 origin in SV40 by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-SV40 KT3 tag antibody (KT3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The KT3 tag is derived from the carboxy-terminus of the Simian Virus 40 large T antigen, which contains an 11 amino-acid epitope crucial for studying viral interactions. Understanding the structure of the large T antigen is particularly important, as this protein plays a pivotal role in the virus′s ability to manipulate host cell machinery for replication. The large T antigen forms complexes with essential cellular proteins, including the retinoblastoma protein and p53, which are critical for regulating the cell cycle and apoptosis.
