Sur-8 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sur-8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sur-8 (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sur-8, also known as SHOC2 (suppressor of clear homolog (C. elegans)), is a 582 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the Ras-MAPK signaling pathway, which is essential for cell growth and differentiation. Sur-8 protein is primarily located in the cytoplasm but translocates to the nucleus upon growth factor stimulation, highlighting a dynamic role in cellular signaling. Sur-8 protein exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms and features 20 leucine-rich repeats (LRR), which are important for protein-protein interactions and signaling modulation. Aberrant N-myristoylation of SHOC2 has been linked to Noonan-like syndrome with loose anagen hair, a genetic disorder characterized by distinctive physical features and hair abnormalities. The gene encoding Sur-8 is located on human chromosome 10q25.2 and murine chromosome 19 D2, making Sur-8 protein a significant target for research in developmental biology and genetic disorders.

To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody.
