SUMO-3 Antibody (LW-M2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody designed to detect human SUMO-3 protein, also known as Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier 3 or SUMO3. SUMO-3 monoclonal antibody (LW-M2) is validated for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), demonstrating reliable reactivity with SUMO-3 from mouse, rat, and human sources. SUMO-3 is a crucial member of the SUMO protein family, playing a significant role in the post-translational modification process known as sumoylation. Unlike ubiquitination, which primarily targets proteins for degradation, sumoylation by SUMO-3 regulates various essential cellular functions including nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability. Unconjugated SUMO-3 predominantly localizes within the nucleus, interacting with various nuclear proteins to influence critical biological processes such as DNA repair, cell cycle progression, and regulation of transcription factors.
