SUMO-2/3/4 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect the SUMO-2, SUMO-3, and SUMO-4 proteins, also known as Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier 2, 3, and 4, respectively. SUMO-2/3/4 monoclonal antibody (C-3) is raised against amino acids 1-95 of the full-length human SUMO-4 protein and is validated for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) across mouse, rat, and human species. SUMO proteins belong to the ubiquitin-like protein family and are characterized by their conserved beta-grasp fold structure, which is crucial for their ability to conjugate to target proteins through the sumoylation process. This structural integrity allows SUMO-2/3/4 to interact effectively with E1, E2, and E3 enzymes, facilitating the attachment of SUMO to lysine residues on substrate proteins. The sumoylation mediated by SUMO-2/3/4 plays a vital role in regulating various cellular functions, including nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress.
