SUMO-1 Antibody (D-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects SUMO-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SUMO-1 monoclonal antibody (D-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) proteins, which encompass SUMO-1, SUMO-2, and SUMO-3, are integral to numerous cellular processes, particularly in the regulation of protein function through post-translational modifications. SUMO-1 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, influencing processes such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, and apoptosis. SUMO-1′s ability to modify target proteins, including IkBα, MDM2, p53, PML, and Ran GAP1, underscores its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to stress. SUMO-1′s interaction with these proteins can affect their stability and activity, which is vital for proper cellular function and can have implications in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. The unconjugated forms of SUMO-1, along with SUMO-2 and SUMO-3, are primarily localized to the nuclear membrane and nuclear bodies, highlighting their significance in nuclear processes. Furthermore, while SUMO-2 and SUMO-3 are capable of forming polymeric chains and contribute more extensively to protein modification, SUMO-1′s unique properties make SUMO-1 a key player in the intricate network of cellular regulation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well for IPWorks very well for co-IP, when this antibody was used for IP at 1:10 dilution and sumoylated protein was detected on a WB with its own antibody. However, we could not detect any SUMO bands of the right size in a reciprocal co-IP when IP was carried out with a target protein.
