Sulfiredoxin Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Sulfiredoxin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sulfiredoxin, also known as Sulfiredoxin-1 or chromosome 20 open reading frame 139 (C20orf139), plays a crucial role as a cytoplasmic antioxidant protein, primarily involved in the reduction of oxidative modifications that can lead to cellular damage. Sulfiredoxin is essential for regulating peroxiredoxins (PRXs), a family of proteins that mitigate oxidative stress by reducing hydroperoxides. Sulfiredoxin specifically reduces the conserved cysteine residue in PRXs from sulfinic to sulfenic acid, thereby enhancing their ability to participate in downstream signaling pathways involving transcription factors and kinases. Sulfiredoxin selectively interacts with PRDX1, PRDX2, PRDX3, and PRDX4, while showing no effect on PRDX5 or PRDX6, highlighting its specificity in cellular redox regulation. The widespread expression of Sulfiredoxin, particularly in lung, spleen, kidney, and thymus tissues, underscores its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to oxidative stress. Anti-Sulfiredoxin antibody (E-7) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the mechanisms of oxidative stress and the role of peroxiredoxins in various biological processes.
