SUGT1 Antibody (YQ-R3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects SUGT1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SUGT1, also known as the Suppressor of G2 allele of Skp1 p19 homolog, is a crucial regulator of the cell cycle, particularly important for the G1/S and G2/M transitions, ensuring proper cell division and function. SUGT1 is highly soluble and shares significant homology with its yeast counterpart, Sgt1, with 26% overall amino acid identity and 30% overall similarity, highlighting evolutionary conservation across eukaryotes. SUGT1 is primarily localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm, where SUGT1 contains several functional domains, including a CS domain, a SGS domain, a p23 domain, and three tetratricopeptide repeats (TPR), which are essential for interactions and functions. SUGT1 plays a pivotal role in the assembly of kinetochores and acts as a co-chaperone for HSP 90, facilitating protein folding and stability. Additionally, SUGT1 associates with Skp1 p19 and CUL1, components of the SCF (Skp1-Cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, implicating SUGT1 in the regulation of protein degradation pathways. The presence of an additional isoform, SUGT1B, resulting from alternative splicing, further underscores the complexity and functional diversity of SUGT1.
